Intensive Daycare

Ideal for someone who has an addiction problem but is not physically dependent, does not need a detox, needs to carry on living at home and has a high motivation to change their life.

Daycare is tailor made to meet your individual needs. It provides you with a solid recovery network and a platform for long-term and sustainable recovery.

Advantages of Intensive Daycare

Non-residential: live at home and come for treatment to our light and airy clinic in a very discreet mews in South Kensington, a short stroll from the tube station.

Flexibility: the abstinence-based programme runs from 9am – 3pm on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays & from 9am -12 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Effective & evidence-based: research from the US links long-term continuing care to best long-term outcomes.

Fits around life: get well within the context of your own life.

Local: build your recovery network and community where you live. Group, individual and holistic therapies (art therapy, sound therapy, yoga and mindfulness): best practice. We have been running daycare programmes at Start2Stop continuously since 2012 and know what good looks like; our expert team will look after you.

Weekly family support group: best practice.

Alcohol & drug testing: twice a week (and sometimes daily, when needed).

Recovery community: we have a thriving community which offers the opportunity to make friends, form connections and nail down your recovery support system.

Helpful for people struggling with depression: treatment at Start2Stop has a robust effect on depression and anxiety. A study involving 182 clients found that successful completion of three months of treatment at S2S led to a 40% reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Cost-effective: daycare is significantly more affordable than residential treatment.

Aftercare: we offer free weekly Aftercare for life. People with Eating Disorders have
a separate Aftercare group to clients with substance addictions.
